Recyclable laminates are films made of layers of polyethylene films fused. Unlike other multilayer laminates that use different polymers in different layers,these laminates can be easily recycled since they are made from only polyethylene. Depending on the requirements, some layers can be increased to have more durability or better barrier properties.

Multilayer laminates are manufactured by combining different layers of a polymer of increased mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and better barrier properties. Metalized plastic films or aluminium foil further improve the puncture resistance and chemical resistance.

Monolayer laminates are packaging films made from biaxially oriented polymers. Generally, BOPP, EVOH or PVC are used. Metalized monolayer laminates are also available. Monolayer laminates are primarily utilized as inner linings of food packaging to increase their shelf life. Thanks to their excellent barrier properties.
